Jess Murphy
I’m Jess, a copywriter, and one half of the creative partnership known as Jess & Jessie (insert “same name” joke here). It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up, but after a degree in Communications from DCU and a strange turn of events that included a mysterious bookstore, an 86-year-old copy of Heidi, and a lady called June Alison pointed me towards Adland, I did the MSc Advertising in TU Dublin and haven’t looked back since. I like to create work that is lyrical, memorable, and often pun-filled. Somehow, I’ve been lucky enough to get experience at BBDO Dublin, and am currently learning the ropes at Rothco.
Jessie Newman
My name is Jessie, and I am the Art Directing partner to my other half, Jess Murphy. I’ve always had a love of art, design, and creativity – and have the piles of old sketchbooks to match. After getting my degree in English from Trinity, I always thought I’d be writing my way to a Pulitzer. Luckily, at the recommendation of my Ad-Mad Grandad, I began looking into the creative side of advertising, and applied/completed the Advertising MSc at TU Dublin. Despite my passion for writing, Art Direction became my one true love – lucky for Jess. I try to create thought-provoking work that tells a story, while always attempting to make people laugh, cry, hungry, happy, tired, sad… basically any emotion I can. Gaining experience at BBDO Dublin, and now Rothco, I’m excited to see where myself and Jess’ ideas will take us.
