Take Five with...
Finn Richards
What is the most unusual project you’ve ever worked on?
I once had to photograph a series of shopping centres which may not sound unusual, until you stand in the same spot in one of these places for a period of time and observe how they work and how people behave when inside them.
Who is your creative hero?
At the moment! – Reed Morano the DoP who recently turned director with her debut ‘Meadowland’. I’ve really been into her work for a while now, then along came Meadowland, which I really enjoyed. Worth noting too that she made it at the tail-end of a battle with cancer.
What would you do with a spare €100?
For fitness I took up boxing two years ago and made the mistake of buying the cheapest gloves available. Needless to say they’re now falling to bits! €100 would go a long way to replacing them. Probably won’t make me a better boxer though as I have two left feet!
What piece of work do you wish you had created?
I’ve been trying to put together a set of shots for a while now and they just haven’t happened – yet! They’re based around the ‘beauty’ of ‘non-places’, so places like motorways and railway stations for instance.
What’s your soundtrack?
Today I’m listening back to some old John Kelly podcasts on Lyric.
