19.00 Intro and interviews. James Morris will talk to Richie Smyth and Alan Moloney about the creative collaboration between producer and director working on a film (or tv commercial)… how they complement, differ and ultimately combine to deliver a better product. Hosted by Windmill Lane.
20.30 The 2017 ICAD commendations will be announced.

About the speakers
James Morris
Trained as a film editor in London, James established Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin where all of U2’s albums up to Joshua Tree were recorded. He was a founding member of the consortium that established TV3. Opened UK’s first fully digital commercial VFX post-production studio – The Mill. He was appointed the CEO of Shepperton Studios to prepare for equity/trade sale. He has served two terms as the Chairman of the Irish Film Board and is now a leading member of the team pushing to open a Film Studio on the Poolbeg Peninsula.

Richie Smyth
Renowned promo, commercial and now feature film director, Richie just won Best Director IFTA for The Seige of Jadotville. He famously helped dream it all up again with U2 on the edgy promo for The Fly their first single of the Achtung Baby album and has worked tirelessly in the Irish TV commercial sector for over 20 years.

Alan Moloney
Alan established award-winning Parallel Film Productions in 1993 and has built the company into a market leader in feature film and television drama. His productions have won numerous awards and nominations including Best British Film at the BAFTAs and Academy Award nominations. He’s produced leading Irish films such as Intermission, Breakfast on Pluto and The Siege of Jadotville and worked with leading Irish actors such as Colin Farrell, Cillian Murphy, Brendan Gleeson, Saoirse Ronan and Liam Neeson.

About the Commendations
We will be announcing the 2017 ICAD Awards Commendations on the night when they will also go live to ICAD Awards Gallery. Commended work is judged to be representative of the very best of Irish advertising and design in its given year and will be up for an award at our Awards Ceremony on May 11. Early bird tickets to the 2017 ICAD Awards Ceremony expire at 6pm on May 4.
