“Dying is easy, comedy is hard” – John Butler can’t remember who said that, exactly, but he does know that in addition to almost certainly being dead, they were right. Comedy is John’s thing; he’s just wrapped on his new feature PAPI CHULO in LA, he wrote and directed the acclaimed HANDSOME DEVIL, he directed and co-wrote THE STAG, starring Andrew Scott (winning the 2013 DGA Director’s Finders Series for it), he made the IFTA award-winning TV sketch show YOUR BAD SELF starring Domhnall Gleeson, while his comic novel THE TENDERLOIN, published by Picador, was short-listed at the Irish Book Awards. John’s also directed some award winning short films for the Irish Film Board and of course some award winning TV commercials.
