Kasia Oźmin

Jury Chariperson

Kasia Oźmin is founder & Creative Director of Together We Create. Kasia is most interested in the space where design and commerce meet and is unashamedly a jack of all trades/renaissance woman/polymath/generalist.

Kasia spent 10 years in New York working as a Design Director and art Director in high profile agencies/studios including Red Antler, Mother, Anomaly and Sid Lee. Her expertise in concept and creative development has led her to work with clients that include: Apple, (Product) Red, Star Wars, Treasury Wine Estates, Nonesuch Records, Brown Thomas and DCCoI.

Kasia has won a shelf load of design awards (including an ICAD Gold in 2019), and has had her work featured in numerous international print and online publications including Creative Review, the Guardian, dieline.com and underconsidderation.com/fpo. She is a past judge of the Kinsale Sharks, contributed articles to, and served on the 100 Archive panel and has recently been an ICAD Upstarts mentor. Kasia is a visiting lecturer in IADT.

Pablo Delcan

International Judge

Pablo Delcan is a graphic designer and art director from Spain. He started his career designing book covers at Penguin Random House. He is a visual contributor to The New York Times and teaches typography and design at the School of Visual Arts.

He was inducted into AGI in 2019, recognized by Forbes as a 30 under 30 in 2017 and as a Young Gun by the Art Directors Club in 2016. His work has been recognized by D&AD, TDC, American Illustration, Graphis, Communication Arts, and the Society of Illustrators among others.

Emma Conway

Judge

Emma has over 8 years’ experience in the design industry and has worked in both Dublin and Rotterdam agencies. Prior to joining The National Library of Ireland, she worked at RichardsDee (Dublin), Image Now, Dept (Rotterdam) and Language where she was lead designer on various projects which included clients such as Temple Bar Gallery, The Yes Campaign and Trinity College Dublin.

Emma’s areas of speciality lie within branding, typography and digital applications. She has also been recognised for her independent projects for the music and arts scene in Dublin and has been featured in Totally Dublin and District Magazine.

Colin Farmer

Judge

In his 20s, Colin finally discovered graphic design. Thanks career guidance teachers!

In his 30s, alongside Noelle Cooper, he co-founded Unthink, an inquisitive and open-minded design studio. Their work regularly features in the 100Archive, and they have recently won ICAD and ADCE Awards for their work with Galway 2020.

In his 40s, he began teaching, as visiting lecturer on the MA Professional Practice in TUDublin, the BA Visual Communications in TUDublin, IADT and GAD in Beijing, and as part of the international tutorial team on Design West.

He is also a founding member of the SkateD8 and Cork Street Park groups who campaigned for green space in Dublin 8, which culminated in Weaver Park.

Shane O’Riordan

Judge

Shane O’Riordan is the Design Director at Rothco Accenture Interactive. With over 12 years of experience working across a diverse mix of branding, advertising, and tech agencies.

Shane is a multiple award-winning creative, across areas such as branding, illustration, typography and art direction. Shane’s work has been recognised Internationally at Cannes, Clio, Epica, and Fast Co. among others.

Shane’s work has also seen him inducted into The International Society of Typographic Designers in London (ISTD). His work has been published in design books and magazines and he has judged at a number of prestigious design awards – most recently on the Grand Jury of The New York Festival Awards 2020.

Shane has worked on a wide range of local and international clients such as The United Nations, Burberry, BP, White Claw, and Rory McIlroy to name a few.

Aoife Mooney

Type Design Judge

Aoife Mooney is an Irish typographic designer, and an Associate Professor at Kent State University in Ohio, USA. She holds a Masters in Typeface Design from the University of Reading (2010), and a Bachelors in Visual Communication from Dublin Institute of Technology (2005). She has worked as both a full-time and freelance typeface designer for Hoefler & Frere-Jones (NYC) (now Hoefler & Co.), and Frere-Jones Type respectively, and with Google WebFonts. She is a member of the International Society of Typographic Designers as well as a member of their Education Team, and one of the coordinators of the North American Annual Student Assessment Scheme. Aoife’s work has been awarded by Graphis and the Society of Typographic Arts. She is currently undertaking an MFA in Textile Design investigating the relationship between text and texture and regularly presents on her research internationally at type-focused conferences.
