This is the story of how Three Ireland is transforming Arranmore Island from one of the most disconnected places in the world to one of the most connected.

Small islands are dying, and the current rate of emigration meant Arranmore Island off the west coast of Ireland could be uninhabited by 2042. Three Ireland decided to transform Arranmore into a permanent brand experience, showcasing the benefits of a “Better Connected Life” to save the island. Three gave Arranmore the fastest connection speeds in Ireland, and then used the network to transform the fishing industry, education, healthcare and tourism.

The Island is Three’s most successful campaign ever, increasing brand health and network scores. And Arranmore saw an 85% increase in tourism, growth in the economy, and applications to move from businesses and individuals all over the world, helping to reverse 150 years of emigration.
