Shape the Future was exhibited at the National Craft Gallery, Kilkenny 2016/2017 and the NCAD Gallery, Dublin 2017. Featuring works by 20 winning designer makers under the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland Future Makers Awards, Shape the Future showcased innovative pieces which were specifically created for the exhibition. Responding to the theme of Cultural Identity, the work offered an insight into where we are now and where we are going, shaping collective identity through making. We were asked to design an identity, catalogue and accompanying exhibition material for the show. Stargazing into the unknown, we based the design around a mystical constellation, symbolic of the dual themes of collective identity and individual contribution. A star was assigned to each designer maker exhibiting. The constellation comes to life through the behaviour of the printed materials and at a larger scale within the exhibition space.
