On an April afternoon in 2014, Gillian Treacy was driving home with her two children when her car was rammed from the road by a drunk driver. One of Gillian’s two boys, Ciarán, lost his life; Gillian herself suffered catastrophic injuries. It is a testament to the depth of their hurt and the strength of their courage, that Gillian and her husband Ronan agreed to share their story as part of the RSA’s long-running Crashed Lives campaign. This time we widened the focus of our campaign, to convey the impact such an event has on family, on members of the public who helped
at the crash site, and on the selfless men and women of the emergency services and hospitals. Their stories are touched on in some 23 short form films that accompany our 90” and 60” TVC cuts. Note: for this entry, we are submitting only those films which have already gone live, either on TV, via VOD, on social media, or in cinema.
