Oda Jaune’s oil paintings and watercolours focus on the bodily, the collaged, the peculiar; her work continually evades the viewers’ grasp. She plays with themes of ambivalence, attraction and withdrawal. Internal organs and depictions of violence coalesce with nursing mothers and portrayals of tenderness in imaginative and occasionally gruesome ways, bringing forth unsettling yet engaging works of art.
