Workplaces are a perfect storm for accidents. Lots of moving parts, and a tendency for even the most conscientious worker’s attention to drift. “Autopilot” is a term that crops up a great deal when describing the behaviour that leads to workplace accidents. We took that analogy to its dramatic extreme, and drafted in the most iconic autopilot of them all. We went back to the model-maker who worked on the “Airplane” films in the 1980s and commissioned a fresh replica of the man himself.
