A pint of Guinness takes 119.5 seconds to pour – so this Christmas, Guinness used that time to connect people. Every time someone ordered a pint of Guinness they were served a beermat which doubled-up as a postcard that could be sent to loved ones anywhere in the world (for free, of course!). The partnership with An Post meant that postcards could be sent using any An Post postbox or could be posted in our specially created Guinness postboxes featured in participating pubs.

More than 100 pubs participated nationwide and over 50,000 postcards were sent across the world. For every postcard sent Guinness made a charitable donation to ALONE. The campaign earned significant attention in press and on social. Guinness became the Irish brand most synonymous with Christmas this – beating Aer Lingus to the title for the first time. Ultimately the campaign resulted in a +5% sales increase for December (YOY).
