A Series of Interactive Installations Dreamt up for the Whole Family

The Enchanted Lights Event at Kildare Village in 2019 was an experience destination project designed to compliment the existing retail experience at the village. It added a series of interactive spectacle pieces that brough enourmous entertainment and immersive value to the Ireland’s most popular retail experience.

It began with a a bespoke LED walkway installtion that whisked the audience from the carpark and across the beautiful church ruin and into the village proper. Along

Alongside this was a sea of 10,000 LEDs was designed transporting the audience and giving the location an air of magic and wonder. It included a tracking system designed to react to the slightest gesture on an outdoor touchscreen, further immersing the spectator in waves of light and colour while giving them control of the whole installation.

As the location was beside a protected church, the installation had to be low impact and the use of LED bulb was perfect as they just had to sit on the ground and disappered in to the landscape during the day.

An outdoor, waterproof lcd touchscreen was installed that showed a birdseye view of the outdoor area in Kildare Village. When you looked at the screen you saw 4 different patterns and a colour bar. When you touched the map the screen showed the trail made by the pattern and the LED bulbs came to life. The screen played sound effects the reacted to your movement and which colour you chose.

The touchscreen meant that people of all ages could interact and play with the installation. You could create your own pattens and be part of the experience.

Every 30 mins a pre programmed show would happen which utilised and synced all of the lighting elements in the location. This additionally included site lighting, uplighters and moving head lights that accentuated the ruin of the Church and integrated with the whole lighting experience. Then the audience was asked to touch the screen again to start the experience.

In the main part of the village we had two projection mapped buildings. These projection mapped installations were thematic for the time of year. First starting with a collection of winter animals and spirits and then we updated the visuals for Chinese New Year.
