The brief was to create a film to showcase the Jose Cuervo distillery in Tequila, Mexico and the people behind it.
Celebration honours the incredible work of the Blue Agave farmers who cultivate the primary ingredient for Jose Cuervo’s world famous Tequila.
My challenge was to compose and design a music and sound design score that represented the beauty, grit, determination and pride of the place and people who make this very special spirit.
The music consciously moves and breathes against the picture, slipping between moments of ambiance and music score.
Elements of authentic mariachi and festival recordings from the shoot were chosen and blended to match the musical key and rhythm of the score for a kaleidoscopic audio-visual ending.
The result is a marriage of music, sound and picture that truly moves.
