The World Wide Open campaign was developed to position An Post as a world class delivery service. Our concept was to show that An Post is breaking down barriers and bringing the world closer to Ireland. In a time when some countries are talking about building walls, and there’s a global trend towards insularism, we wanted to show that Irish people, and our national postal service, stand for something quite different. An Post have always been determined to look outwards, break down barriers, connect people and export Ireland to the world and the world to Ireland. To bring this dramatic subject matter to live, we collaborated with some truly cinematic talent and used techniques normally associated with the big screen, to deliver this visually stunning campaign that sees An Post breaking new ground, doing away with restrictions and opening up the world to customers and businesses alike. We worked with Andy Clark from Outer Limits on VFX. We worked to create cinema-quality visuals from borders breaking down to an Irish coastline with a Manhattan skyline in the distance. VFX were essential in bringing the vision to life. Throughout the 40 second ad we see the Poolbeg Chimneys next to London’s Gherkin building, we drive down an Irish motorway towards Wexford, with the London Eye in the distance and we see the Golden Gate Bridge jutting out from the West Cork coastline. Coupled with stunning Irish scenery, the VFX in this ad helped us literally bring the world to Ireland – on screen at least.
