Jake O’Driscoll— Boys and Girls

Jury Chairperson

Originally from New Zealand, Jake is an internationally award-winning Creative Director who has been who’s career spans multiple countries and continents but who has been working in Ireland for the last 4 years (with a brief Covid-sabbatical to Australia in between) His first job of note was at DDB New Zealand, one of the APAC region’s leading advertising agencies. Working across all clients from NZ Lotteries, BMW, Lion Breweries and Westpac Bank. His work for NZ Breast Cancer in particular won at major award shows but most importantly continues to create change within the medical industry and create more robust and accessible means to cancer testing. Moving to Dublin in 2018 he first worked in The Public House before starting at Boys+Girls in 2019, where he worked across the entire roster of clients. After a year in Melbourne working at Leo Burnett, Jake returned to B+G to take up the role of Creative Director. Jake’s approach to creativity has seen his work rewarded at Cannes, D&AD, The One Show, Spikes Asia and the Clios. It has also allowed him the privilege of being a juror on judging panels for the Cannes Lions, The Immortal Awards and, of course, the ICADs.

Laura McGovern — Creative Director 

International Judge

Laura McGovern is an internationally awarded Creative Director from London, originally from Dublin, who has worked at some of the most creative agencies in the UK and Ireland, including BBH London and Dentsu Creative. Laura worked with She Says to change the face of the advertising industry with her most recent campaign for International Women’s Day. She has transformed how we represent mothers with her Body Proud Mums work for Mothercare and she has saved women of the UK millions of pounds on their sanitary products with her ground-breaking Tampon Tax Off work for Tesco. Laura favours interesting shaped work that generates dialogue beyond the inner sanctum of adland. Work that lifts people up and transforms perspectives. But sometimes making work about burgers, beer or beefcake athletes can also be just as fun.

Jean Donovan — BBDO Dublin

Judge

Having begun her writing life in McConnells Advertising, Jean has many years’ experience working on Irish and international accounts. A move to what is now BBDO Dublin saw her create award-winning work for some of Ireland’s favourite brands and institutions. Since her return to BBDO Dublin in 2010, she has taken part in the ICAD Upstarts programme as a mentor and worked on everything from Barry’s Tea. Aer Lingus and Virgin Media to EirGrid and IDA Ireland.

Udi Ovadia — BBDO Dublin

Judge

Udi is a senior creative/art director with over 15 years of experience working in the advertising field. For the past six years, Udi has been working in Ireland. Initially with Boys and Girls and for the past three years with Huskies. Prior to that Udi lived and worked for nine years in Milan, Italy with Grey Milan (previously 1861 United), and later for five years in Tel Aviv, Israel in Saatchi & Saatchi and TBWA. Udi speaks Hebrew, Italian and English. Awards: Throughout his career Udi has produced creative work for a variety of local and international brands receiving several industry awards in Italy, Israel and Ireland.

Carina Caye — Droga5

Judge

Carina Caye is a Brazilian creative that changed her home from São Paulo to Dublin, Ireland, in 2019, where she currently works at Droga5 Dublin. Beyond having a bachelor in graphic design, she has chosen to shape her career in art direction and conceptualising strong ideas crafted by purposeful visuals – which she believes can create meaning, memories and behaviour changes when done wisely and intentionally.

Throughout the years, she has built compelling work for brands like Google, Netflix, Lego, Hennessy, Whirlpool, Nivea, AIB Bank, Nike Converse, Stellantis and others, with some being recognised in the main creativity festivals like Cannes Lions, The One Show (for which she was a part of the jury in 2023), Clios, New York Festivals (for which she was also on the jury in 2022), and local awards as The Creative Club in Brazil and ICADs in Ireland.

She is personally curious and professionally obsessed with creativity and design, and spends most of her time discovering ways to improve herself along with being a mom to her sweet baby daughter, Lola.
