Take Five with...
Denise Nestor
What is the most unusual project you’ve ever worked on?
The portrait of Winston Churchill for The New York Times. I worked on it in collaboration with another illustrator who was based in Milan, so over the course of two days we had to factor in three time zones on top of a tight deadline. It was my first commission for The New York Times so it all felt quite surreal at the time. I really enjoyed that one.
Who is your creative hero?
There are many, but one that comes to mind is Miranda July. I admire anyone who can express themselves across so many creative disciplines.
What would you do with a spare €100?
I’d spend it in a nice restaurant.
What piece of work do you wish you had created?
‘Ophelia’ by John Everett Millais.
What’s your soundtrack?
Right now, First Aid Kit’s ‘Stay Golden’.
